What does the job involve?

Responsible for operating and monitoring automated control systems used in energy production. Involves monitoring equipment, analysing data, troubleshooting operational issues, and ensuring that systems operate according to established procedures. Diagnose issues that arise and perform necessary adjustments or repairs. Responsible for adhering to safety protocols, and continuously optimizing the energy production processes through automation.

You are utilizing your knowledge in a specific area to carry out tasks that have a short-term operational impact/risk. You independently complete assigned work, either with guidance or by following well-defined guidelines and procedures, in order to achieve targets set by others that have an impact on your immediate team. You effectively communicate facts, practices, and policies to individuals within your immediate team and occasionally with external parties. You adhere to established procedures, identify and resolve challenges, seek continuous improvement, embrace change and ambiguity, and demonstrate flexibility to adopt new activities and ways of working.​ You follow and comply with safety, ethics, and compliance requirements and align with leadership expectations and company values. What will my tasks be?

Within this position, your key tasks will be to:

  • Responsible for all maintenance tasks within the automation field, ensuring that operational requirements are met in accordance with governing documentation and company procedures.

  • Ensure effective collaboration with suppliers and other disciplines to ensure seamless coordination and cooperation.

  • Coordinate activities and discipline personnel according to the plan and priorities set by the leader, ensuring efficient utilization of resources and effective collaboration within the team, and that tasks are executed efficiently and in a timely manner.

  • Ensure smooth task transfer to the onshore operations organization, coordinating the transfer of responsibilities and providing necessary information and documentation.

  • Perform routine tasks on automation equipment and -systems to ensure safe and efficient operation. This includes tasks such as cleaning, lubricating, adjusting components, replacing worn-out parts, and regularly checking system parameters, alarms, and data trends to ensure smooth operation and identify any deviations or abnormalities.

  • Conduct quality assurance activities and assess the risk of equipment failures, ensuring that equipment is maintained and operated in a safe and reliable manner. Coordinating the onshore shipment of equipment for repairs when necessary.

  • Troubleshoot issues that may arise, such as equipment malfunctions or faults. This involves using diagnostic tools and techniques to identify the root cause of the problem and proposing appropriate solutions.

  • Perform automation equipment and -systems, including system upgrades, equipment improvements, repairs or implementation of new automation technologies

  • Minimum of 3 to 5 year working offshore as Lead Automation/E&I supervisor.

  • Technical degree in Automation (with CFT/CRT) required.

  • Expertise in EX equipment maintenance, Background in IT tools and automation.

  • Knowledge of metering systems.

  • Fluent proficiency with oral and written communication in both Portuguese and English.

  • Detail-oriented, Critical thinking.

  • Focus on Teamwork and collaboration.
