Are you a passionate and creative communications professional with a knack for engaging employees and showcasing a company's unique culture? Join EDB’s Marketing team as an Internal Comms and Brand Specialist and play a vital role in fostering a positive employee experience and attracting top talent. Reporting to the Internal Comms and Employer Brand Manager, you will be instrumental in creating compelling content, assisting with the management of internal communications channels and content calendars, and supporting award applications and the execution of our employer branding strategy.
What your impact will be:
- Support Strategic Alignment: Support the ongoing development and execution of overall internal communications and employer branding strategies, ensuring alignment with company goals and values.
- Content Creation & Curation: Develop engaging and informative content for internal newsletters, intranet, Slack channels, and other communications platforms. This includes drafting announcements, success stories, company and HR updates, and engaging employee spotlights.
- Employer Brand Support: Assist in the creation of content for external employer branding channels such as LinkedIn, Glassdoor, Indeed, the company blog, and careers page, ensuring consistent messaging and a compelling portrayal of EDB as an employer of choice.
- Internal Newsletter Support: Assist the Internal Comms and Employer Brand Manager with the internal newsletter process, including content collection, drafting, organization, and initial editing.
- Channel Support & Optimization: Support the Internal Comms and Employer Brand manager in managing and maintaining internal communication channels to ensure timely, relevant, and visually appealing content, and help identify opportunities for channel optimization to enhance employee engagement.
- Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Pull, analyze, and provide reports on key metrics from internal communication channels (e.g., email engagement, Confluence analytics) and employer branding platforms (e.g., Glassdoor insights) to identify trends and inform future content and strategies.
- Glassdoor Monitoring & Engagement: Regularly monitor EDB's Glassdoor presence, including reviews, and provide feedback and strategic content opportunities to the Internal Comms and Employer Brand Manager, making sure suggestions align with company goals and brand guidelines.
- HR & Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with HR and other departments to gather information for internal communications and employer branding initiatives, ensuring alignment on key messages and priorities.
- Brand Advocacy: Act as a brand ambassador, ensuring all internal and external communications reflect EDB's values, culture, and employer value proposition.
- Change Communications Assistance: Help develop and execute communication plans to support HR initiatives and organizational changes, ensuring employees are informed and feel supported.
- Content Calendar Support: Assist in the development and maintenance of a content calendar for internal communications and employer branding initiatives, ensuring timely creation and distribution of content across all relevant channels as guided by the Internal Comms and Employer Brand Manager.
- Awards Support: Assist in identifying relevant industry and employer brand-related award opportunities. Support the process of completing award applications and track the status and deadlines of submissions.
What you will bring:
- Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Human Resources, or a related field; 1-3 years of experience in internal communications, content creation, or employer branding.
- Excellent Writing & Communication Skills: Proven ability to write clear, concise, and engaging content tailored to different audiences and channels. A strong understanding of storytelling principles is a plus.
- Organizational Skills & Attention to Detail: Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and maintain a high level of accuracy in all communications and tracking efforts.
- Analytical Aptitude: Comfort with pulling and interpreting data from various platforms and compiling reports to inform communication strategies.

- Interpersonal Skills & Collaboration: A team player with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive working relationships across departments.

- Familiarity with Digital Communication Tools: Experience using platforms such as Slack, Confluence, Zoom and the Google suite of services is a plus. Basic visual communication skills using tools like Canva are also preferred.
- Commitment to Confidentiality: Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
