The Assistant Director, Professional Development Programs, is responsible for course scheduling, curricular web content updates, inquiry management, student support, and oversight to ensure the successful delivery and positive financial outcome of courses and certificate programs. The Director will work with a variety of audiences and stakeholders, including prospective and current students, faculty, staff, and alumni. The Director will oversee a portfolio of programs currently including two online non-credit certificates (Copyediting, Digital Media Production) and a variety of individual courses for a la carte non-credit or non-degree enrollment.The position is a term-limited role to oversee the day-to-day operations of all non-credit professional development programs and non-degree courses offered to the public.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
- Working with faculty to schedule and deliver professional development courses and certificates to the public for adult learners each semester
- Responding to prospective students, current students, and alumni customer inquiries and requests by email, phone, and web form
- Managing the portfolio of programs to ensure successful delivery and student satisfaction
- Preparing and entering course information each semester for posting to the web and the College's internal information systems
- Monitoring student enrollment & associated processes to ensure students are properly registered and have access to the College systems for course participation
- Reviewing end-of-semester course evaluations and making recommendations for changes as appropriate
- Monitoring end-of-course grading, approving certificate completion, and issuing a digital certificate to eligible students
- Interface with other offices as needed for student enrollment support, such as the Registrar, Student Accounts, IT Help Desk, & Academic Advising
- Collaborating on marketing discussions as needed with external agencies and internal marketing professionals
- Performs other related duties within the scope of the position as required for the efficient operation of the department and to support institutional objectives
QUALIFICATIONS – Qualifications are deemed required or preferred and represent what is needed to perform the job effectively.
- A bachelor’s degree in a field related to the position duties, such as education, communications, marketing, or business administration, is required.
- 3-5 years’ experience in a higher education environment, preferably working with non-credit, continuing education, or non-degree programming for adult learner audiences, is required.

- Self-starter capable of independent analysis, decision-making, and attention to deliverables
- Collaborative, consultative, adaptive personality to work with a variety of audiences, both external and internal
- Strong organizational, detail, and time management skills
- Prior experience with student information system software such as Banner and Lifelong Learning/Destiny One (or similar continuing education platform)
- Familiarity with Salesforce (or similar CRM using workflows), Google Suite, MS Office, and Workday
- Ability to provide timely and effective customer service
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Knowledge of adult learner & workforce professional development motivations and needs

- The position is a fully remote role with the expectation to come to the Boston campus for different activities over the semester.

COMPENSATION
Compensation for this position will be between $ 57,250 and $ 70,200 annually, commensurate with experience.
This is a time-limited, one-year casual position.

This is a fully remote position. Employees must reside in authorized states as outlined in the Remote Work Policy.
