This opportunity is for a flexible, self-motivated, and innovative individual with an interest in leading remedial systems design projects, providing senior level technical direction, strategic project planning, and developing high-quality work products for our wide variety of clients. The successful individual will be an integral team member that will provide technical leadership for our remediation service lines for remediation projects located throughout the United States and, potentially, internationally. Primary responsibilities in this role will be focused on working with a multi-disciplinary team of professionals developing project solutions and high-quality work products. The successful team member will have additional opportunities to support the growth of our technical practice, expand our client portfolio, and mentor staff along their career path. Key to success will be the ability to work contemporaneously across multiple projects and advise the project teams to ensure quality and value for our clients and reduce/remove risks that impact project success.
This expert-level professional will support project managers and technical teams with skills in the follow areas:

- Think: Identify potential issues and draw on experience and expertise to identify potential outcomes and alternative approaches or perspectives.
- Advise: Evoke critical thinking by asking questions, posing alternative ideas, and exposing potential pitfalls and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate: Support project teams in developing a strategic vision and identifying resources and methods to succeed.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Expertise & Engineering Design
- Lead or support remedial system designs such as groundwater extraction and treatment systems, soil vapor extraction systems, thermal remediation system, and in-situ injection remedies
- Prepare engineering design documents including technical specifications, bid packages, cost estimates, and as-built drawings
- Perform remedy selection and feasibility evaluations for complex sites with multiple contaminants and regulatory frameworks
- Conduct performance monitoring design and optimization, and system O&M evaluations
- Support permitting efforts (RCRA, NPDES, Air) and development of regulatory submittals
Project & Task Management
- Lead implementation of scopes of work, schedules, and budgets for technical task
- Coordinate with internal teams and subcontractors to ensure quality, timely, and cost-effective delivery
- Prepare and review work plans, technical reports, and remedial action plans
- Ensure effective communication and coordination across multidisciplinary teams
Client Service & Business Development
- Serve as a technical resource in client meetings, regulatory discussions, and proposal development
- Assist in identifying growth opportunities within existing projects and client relationships
- Support proposal preparation, cost estimating, and project scoping efforts
Required experience and expertise include:
- Bachelor’s level degree or post-graduate degree in civil or environmental engineering.
- Professional engineer licensing.
- 15+ years of professional experience with at least 10+ years of environmental consulting experience strongly prefered.
- Remedial system design (e.g., groundwater treatment, soil vapor extraction, injection technologies, etc.) and development of as-built drawings.
- Highly rated candidates will have expertise or experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Water Treatment System Design for the following classes of contaminants
- Chlorinated volatile organic compounds
- Petroleum hydrocarbons
- Metals
- Non-Aqueous Phase Liquids
- PFAS/PFOA
- Soil Vapor Extraction systems
- Vapor Treatment Systems
- Sub-slab depressurization systems
- NAPL recovery and management
- Electrical power and control systems
- Knowledge of industrial processes.
- Remedial investigations, feasibility studies, and remedial alternatives evaluations.
- Performance monitoring program design, evaluation, and optimization.
- Technical reporting (work plans, remedial action plans, etc.).
- Project and task management – planning and implementation of scope, schedule, budget.
- Strong understanding federal and state environmental regulations and technical guidance.
Key skills and traits:
- Excellent writing and editing skills. Writing examples and/or completion of a test exercise may be requested.
- Ability to delegate design elements to produce an engineering design package
- Ability to apply adaptive engineering problem solving.
- Strong understanding of the consulting business model.

- Strong communication skills and demonstrated commitment to delivering high-quality work products.
