STAFF CLOUD ENGINEER

Primary Job Responsibilities Our Cloud Engineering team is looking for a strong staff software engineer to help build the compute-as-a-service in our very large OpenStack Cloud. In this role, you''ll immediately join a dedicated team of seasoned Cloud OpenStack Engineers, and have a broad range of Cloud-centric areas to work in, including compute, identity, orchestration and operations. This is an opportunity to collaborate with a talented team of engineers spread across multiple sites, helping make our private Cloud world-class. Bring prior experience with Cloud technology and be eager to start contributing on day one.Work as a Cloud engineer on the cutting edge in-house private OpenStack cloud. Work proactively on defects and come up with innovative solutions to fix them Work with senior engineers on the team on new cloud deployments, upgrades, and retrofits Assist to increase reliability and availability

Job Requirements

BSCS degree or equivalent software design work experience

8 or more years of experience programming in one or more of the following. (Python, Ruby, or Java (Python is preferred)

advanced-level experience with OpenStack is a plus

experience with Linux kernel is a plus

Solid understanding of software development fundamentals

Good communication skills, both written and verbal

Ability to work as a member of a large, distributed and diverse team

Capacity for learning new technologies and skills rapidly is key

advanced-level experience with virtualization technology

Education Bachelors Degree or Equivalent
