Job Description:
The Channel Application Development Engineer (CADE) is the primary technical support and customer facing engineering resource supporting Delrin® business through channel partners and their end customers. The role’s primary mission is to provide high quality technical support, drive opportunity quality through pipeline review, and support channel partners engagement through face-to-face and online meetings, technical presentations, with a strong focus on Delrin® product portfolios and applications. This position works closely with Channel Sales, Distribution Partners, and End Customers to ensure technical alignment, correct product positioning, and successful project execution. An important part of the role is ensuring accurate and timely documentation of all activities and opportunities in the CRM system, enabling pipeline visibility, and structured follow-up.
In time and performance dependent, the role may grow in taking broader commercial lead of one or more entities at Channel Partners from a commercial perspective.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Support & Application Expertise
- Act as the primary technical support resource for channel partners and their end customers
• Provide expert guidance on:
◦ Material selection ◦ Design recommendations ◦ Application feasibility ◦ Processing and performance of Delrin® products
- Support troubleshooting of customer application challenges, both remotely and onsite
- Translate customer technical requirements into Delrin® based solutions
Pipeline Follow-up & Review
- Plays a key role in identifying new opportunities with distributors, drives and supports efficient value propositions on larger deals and act as an enabler between Delrin, Channel partner and end customer.
- Lead pipeline build and execution performance working closely with channel partner team across the region with proactive follow up on open projects and opportunities to support progression and closure
- Validate technical feasibility and quality of opportunities through alignment between customer applications and Delrin® capabilities
Customer & Channel Partner Meetings
- Participate in and lead meetings with channel partners and their end customers
- Act as the technical expert during customer discussions
- Conduct face-to-face meetings jointly with sales or independently, as required
- Build strong technical relationships with customer engineering and technical teams
- Participate in commercial business review meetings
- Contributes to strategic decisions associated with our EMEA Channel strategy.
Presentation of Delrin® Products
- Prepare and deliver technical presentations of Delrin® materials and solutions
• Clearly communicate:
◦ Product performance and benefits ◦ Application examples and use cases ◦ Value propositions versus alternative materials
- Represent Delrin® professionally and credibly during all customer interactions
CRM & Administrative Responsibilities
• Ensure complete and timely documentation of:
◦ Customer visit reports ◦ Technical discussions and application notes ◦ Opportunity status and project updates
- Maintain an accurate and UpToDate opportunity pipeline in the CRM system
- Follow internal processes for reporting, opportunity tracking, and follow-up
- Support sales teams by ensuring CRM data quality and transparency
Ideal Profile:
- Education: Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering or materials science
(Mechanical, Chemical, Polymer Engineering, or similar)
- Experience: Experience in application engineering, technical support, or technical sales support.
- Skills & Competencies: Strong technical communication and presentation skills, customer-oriented mindset with the ability to explain complex topics clearly, ability to work autonomously in a field base & international environment, willingness to travel frequently within EMEA, structured & disciplined approach to pipeline follow-up and CRM administration
- Travel: Home office based with willingness and ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
