Job Overview
The Collateral Analyst is responsible for reviewing, validating, and managing mortgage collateral documentation to ensure compliance with company guidelines and investor requirements. This role plays a critical part in the post-closing process, ensuring accuracy and completeness of collateral files prior to shipment to custodians and investors.
What We Need
Review mortgage collateral documents (appraisals, CDA’s, AVM’s, etc.) for accuracy and compliance
Validate that all required documents are present and properly executed according to investor and company standards
Track and manage collateral files throughout the lifecycle, including receipt and review
Resolve discrepancies or deficiencies by working with internal teams (Underwriting, Operations and Post-Closing) and external partners
Maintain accurate records in collateral tracking systems and ensure timely updates
Assist with audits, reconciliations, and reporting related to collateral management
Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies.
What You'll Do
High school diploma required; Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred
1–3 years of experience in mortgage operations or collateral review
Familiarity with non-QM products and investor guidelines is a plus.
Certified Generalist appraisal license a plus
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and mortgage loan systems
Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
