Position Summary

Provides technical leadership to a team of Data Engineers and Engineering Managers who design, build, and maintain data pipelines, infrastructure, and systems that enable efficient and effective data processing and analytics.

Responsibilities

• Designs and implements scalable and efficient data architectures and infrastructure policies and procedures.
• Develops and maintains data pipelines and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, protocols, and required objectives.
• Controls data integration from various sources, data cleansing, transformation, and loading of data into data warehouses or data lakes.
• Delivers accurate and timely data for business intelligence and analytics purposes.
• Designs protocols for data engineering best practices, standards, and guidelines.
• Researches and provides key recommendations for the adoption of emerging technologies that align with the organization's goals.
• Fosters mutually-beneficial relationships with internal and external partners, vendors, and service providers to ensure successful data engineering initiatives.
• Guides junior colleagues through consultation and mentoring in techniques and processes and provides functional (matrix) supervision.
• Administers technical guidance, mentorship, and support to team members.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years experience
• 5+ years people management experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Technically strong engineering leader who can challenge architecture and solution
• Still able to read & write code in Python & SQL, even if not spending time on it day-to-day.
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform
• Experience with healthcare data
• Experience managing managers and principal-level engineers.
• Adept at execution and delivery (planning, delivering, and supporting) skills
• Adept at collaboration and teamwork
• Mastery of problem solving and decision making skills
• Mastery of growth mindset (agility and developing yourself and others) skills
• If working remotely, able to travel up to 20% of the time.

Education

Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent work experience.

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
