Position Title: Mainframe Systems Engineer

Position Location: Remote US

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Mainframe Systems Engineer specializing in capacity planning to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will leverage tools like CP3000 and VPAT to ensure optimal performance and capacity utilization of IBM Mainframe hardware. Candidate will work actively to identify bottlenecks derived from SMF record types, contributing directly to our commitment to delivering service and benefits to our customers.

Essential Functions:

• Capacity Planning: Utilize CP3000 and VPAT tools to analyze current capacity and predict future resource requirements. Ensure that mainframe systems are adequately provisioned to meet both current and anticipated business demands.
• Bottleneck identification: Employ SMF Record types to monitor performance and identify bottlenecks in the mainframe environment. Analyze trends and propose action plans to alleviate performance issues.
• Optimization Recommendations: provide actionable insights and recommendations for enhancing system performance, reducing costs, and improving service levels.
• Collaboration: Work closely with our Account Executives, Presales and Systems engineers to understand customer workload requirements and optimize the configuration of mainframe resources.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience,
• 3-5 years prior experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
