CodeRabbit is an innovative research and development company focused on building human-machine collaboration systems. The Controller will play a critical leadership role in CodeRabbit’s growth, building and scaling the accounting and financial reporting infrastructure, strengthening internal controls, and supporting strategic decision-making.

Requirements

  • Own the monthly and annual close process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with GAAP
  • Prepare and review financial statements, management reporting packages, and variance analyses
  • Maintain the general ledger, chart of accounts, and accounting policies
  • Partner with department leaders to review monthly results and key drivers
  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and cash management
  • Manage and develop the outsourced accounting team
  • Ensure accurate revenue recognition under ASC 606 (SaaS/subscription, usage-based billing, contract modifications)
  • Manage fixed assets, capitalization, depreciation, and amortization
  • Design, implement, and maintain internal controls appropriate for a rapidly growing international company
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax requirements
  • Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and other third-party service providers
  • Manage both external and internal audits and prepare financial reports
  • Drive company’s first Big 4 audit to completion
  • Bring Accounting fully in house, and drive transition from Quickbooks to a more sophisticated ERP system (Rillet or Campfire)
  • Ensure the establishment, documentation, and adherence to policies and procedures (internal controls)
  • Build scalable processes to support rapid growth in headcount and transaction volume
  • Oversee banking and investment accounts
  • Ensure timely reconciliations and strong cash controls
  • Recruit, manage, and lead the accounting team, providing guidance, training, and mentorship to foster high-performance and professional growth
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration
