Job Description:

At Cloudera, we empower people to transform complex data into clear and actionable insights. With as much data under management as the hyperscalers, we're the preferred data partner for the top companies in almost every industry. Powered by the relentless innovation of the open source community, Cloudera advances digital transformation for the world’s largest enterprises.

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a critical security advancement effort known as the CVE Task Force. The Task Force is a key component of the Security Engineering and Accreditation organization. Its mission is two-fold: to eliminate existing CVE debt across Cloudera’s production environments, platform, and data service repositories, and to strengthen and standardize vulnerability management processes. This high-stakes initiative aims to ensure processes operate in a proactive, efficient, and compliant manner, reinforcing Cloudera's "Secure by Design" commitment in all future releases.

As an Engineering Manager, you will:

  • Lead and manage a world-class team, focusing on attracting and retaining top engineers, and partnering with Field/Support for an exceptional enterprise customer experience.

  • Design and plan remediation initiatives in partnership with technical leads across all service teams and Product Management.

  • Direct the design and implementation of common security libraries and reusable frameworks for consumption across various product offerings.

  • Drive sustainable compliance by establishing repeatable mechanisms to consistently meet FedRAMP-level CVE SLAs in all future releases.

  • Define, support, and enforce the process workflows for CVE remediation and mitigation across the organization, including leading the creation of a uniform CVE and end-of-life (EOL) library management process.

  • Properly identify, remediate, communicate, or escalate technical and program risks.

  • Provide regular progress reports to all stakeholders and coordinate across US and EMEA teams to ensure SLAs are met.

We’re excited about you if you have:

  • 3+ years of Engineering Management experience, including managing remote teams.

  • 8+ years of experience developing enterprise software products as a cloud service.

  • Experience leading engineering teams through several successful releases of software products of high technical complexity.

  • Must have hands-on experience working with Java/Go/Python stacks.

  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience using Public cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, etc.

  • Excellent communication skills and a strong ability to collaborate, influence without authority, and manage ambiguity across functional teams.

You may also have:

  • Expert people and project management skills.

  • Excellent understanding of computer systems and distributed systems.

  • Proven strong customer focus.

What you can expect from us:

  • Generous PTO Policy

  • Support work life balance with Unplugged Days

  • Flexible WFH Policy

  • Mental & Physical Wellness programs

  • Phone and Internet Reimbursement program

  • Access to Continued Career Development

  • Comprehensive Benefits and Competitive Packages

  • Paid Volunteer Time

  • Employee Resource Groups
