ClearEstate emerged from a personal and challenging experience. Co-founder Alexandre Gauthier, after the passing of his mother, found himself navigating the labyrinthine and often emotionally taxing process of estate settlement. This arduous 18-month undertaking, filled with confusing paperwork and legal complexities, sparked the realization that there had to be a better, more humane way. Drawing from his background in e-commerce and marketing, Gauthier envisioned a user-friendly platform designed to simplify this journey for the average person. In November 2020, this vision materialized as ClearEstate, co-founded with Davide Pisanu, who brought a wealth of experience from law and management, including roles at McKinsey & Company and Cirque du Soleil. Pascal Brisset also joined as a co-founder and CTO.

The mission was clear: to demystify the responsibilities of estate executors and guide them through the often opaque probate process with efficiency and empathy. ClearEstate recognized that traditional estate settlement could consume hundreds of hours and stretch over a year, a period during which executors, often grieving, were ill-equipped for the complexities involved. The company set out to build a digital-first, all-in-one solution. Early on, they realized that a purely SaaS (Software as a Service) model wasn't sufficient for users grappling with grief; a human touch was essential. This led to a hybrid approach, combining their intuitive online platform with personalized support from a team of estate professionals. This blend of technology and compassionate guidance aims to save families significant time and money, preserving the value of estates and easing the burden on loved ones during difficult times. ClearEstate's journey has been one of rapid growth and adaptation, driven by the goal of making estate planning and settlement accessible, affordable, and stress-free for everyone.
