The Material Cost Analyst will be responsible for supporting, planning, preparing and reporting the financial analysis as of customers' profitability and margin management as and when required by the business.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The employee will:

  • Evaluate statistics on wastage and ensure that wastage is recorded accurately.
  • Ensure deadlines are met for costing activities and that all prices generated are accurate
  • Complete price reviews as required, providing commentary to support the analysis
  • Review pre and post calculation reports, identify trends and work on improvement plans to address the negative marginal items
  • Ensure usage of pre/post calculation reports and other reports are properly used by analyst and report/resolve exceptions
  • Commit to and actively participate in any future business wide initiatives as directed
  • Coordinate and effectively communicate with the identified stakeholders relevant to your role
  • Follow and supervise the relevant control mechanisms for your role
  • Gather information and report on performance progress as required (daily, weekly and monthly) and set up KPI's
  • Provide the business with reports based upon theoretical and actual consumption of resources and how this can be improved.
  • Ensure the uses of SAC's, ERP consumption (reporting system) are generated.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, CAPABILITIES, & SKILLS:

  • Higher School Certificate or equivalent
  • Working knowledge of the Gate Rail ERP system
  • Strong, multi-disciplined administration and co-ordination experience with a complex, deadline orientated, fast moving environment.
  • Understanding of and working with budgets, plans and performance KPIs and targets;
  • Working with commercial, finance, analytics, administration, frontline stakeholders.
  • TAFE/Certificate 4/Associate Diploma or other qualification in commerce, management, finance/accounting or another administration related discipline would be highly regarded.
  • Computer and system literacy is essential.
  • Microsoft Excel and Word at an advanced level is essential.
  • Ability to gather, organise and analyse data
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Proven ability to communicate in challenging / stressful situations.
