The Lead Workforce Development Manager will manage the Workforce Development Managers, provide support, guidance and management to drive income through partnerships and professional status alongside the delivery of the Lead Sport and Physical Activity Skills Plans, against set targets.
They will have a natural flare for working with people and an ingrained passion for supporting others, whether it be sector professionals, partners or the wider CIMSPA team. We adopt a leading by listening approach across our organisation, continuously gaining insight into the needs of the sector, and we will be looking for our Lead Workforce Development Managers to create long term, local, strategic relationships which drive a collaborative, systemic approach to supporting the sport and physical activity workforce.
Key to this role is the ability to engage employers of all sizes in the benefits of professional recognition of their workforce. The Workforce Development Managers will bring and support employers into partnership with CIMSPA, guide them in supporting their workforce to gain and upgrade their professional status through CIMSPA and provide advice, guidance and support to enable the employer to recruit and develop skills that they need across their business.
The ability to influence and lead both internal and external stakeholders plays a pivotal role in shaping this work, ultimately cumulating in maximising CIMSPA’s exposure and involvement in leading the sectors workforce through professional recognition pathways for individuals in our sector.
The Workforce Development Managers will have experience in partnership management and driving commercial income, working to set targets, and the ability to cross sell and upsell products and services. They will have a deep understanding of the sport and physical activity sector, its role with integration into health, and experience and understanding of education provision directly impacting workforce and employability.
Along with an ability to influence and drive collaboration, they will also have experience in delivering commercial income through multiple revenue streams, ensuring employer/deployer education needs are met through the sectors Training Academy, supporting a diverse, skilled workforce that impacts directly on local communities and priorities.
Key tasks include but are not limited to:
Line Management
- Lead and support a high-performing team.
- Set objectives, hold regular one-to-ones, and manage performance.
- Promote a collaborative and innovative team culture.
Relationship & Account Management
- Build partnerships with local organisations to shape skills strategies.
- Promote professional recognition and status.
- Manage and grow existing partner relationships.
- Support onboarding into professional status.
Income Generation
- Drive income through partnerships and professional status.
- Meet income targets and grow revenue.
- Support accreditation and status upgrades.
- Explore new commercial income opportunities.
Local Influencing
- Deliver impactful local skills plans.
- Advocate for accredited and endorsed learning.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to integrate sport into local skills agendas.
- Strengthen ties with educational institutions to align curricula with employer needs.
Tracking & Measurement
- Monitor partnership engagement and income metrics.
- Track delivery of local skills plans.
- Maintain accurate CRM records and follow dashboard schedules.
- Prepare reports on trends and engagement.
Communication
- Work with Marcomms to create partner-focused content.
- Coordinate with accreditation and education teams for effective onboarding and learning offers.
- Represent CIMSPA at events.
