We are seeking a System Architect to lead the assessment and strategy development for data migration as part of the WMS modernization. The ideal candidate will have experience with warehouse management systems and prior involvement in enterprise data migration initiatives.
As part of the WMS modernization program, each of our client's warehouses needs to be converted from the current (legacy) WMS to the new next-gen WMS. This will require loading the new WMS with necessary master & open transaction data along with setup configuration & inventory data from the old WMS. You will develop a data migration strategy to identify the data needs for the new WMS and define an approach for a repeatable data migration process.
Key Responsibilities:
Identify data requirements (configuration, master, transaction, inventory, etc.) for the new WMS platform.
Assess current data quality and identify data cleanup opportunities; develop a roadmap for data cleansing.
Design a data migration framework for extraction, mapping, and loading across multiple warehouse rollouts, utilizing the client's standard ETL tools like Talend, Azure Data Factory, etc.
Define data integrity, validation, and reconciliation checks.
Establish error monitoring and reprocessing mechanisms.
Specify non-functional requirements (e.g., throughput, timing, sequencing).
Develop a data migration testing strategy including system environment needs, testing cycles, etc.
Develop rollback plans for unsuccessful migrations.
Develop a roadmap of data migration readiness, including the build of necessary tools/frameworks, training, data cleaning, data conversion testing cycles, etc.
