Job Description

Position Purpose

This Asset Recovery Representative will be responsible for managing all locations within given territory who do not have a commercial agreement with CHEP. This individual will be the point of contact for all existing known locations within their territory, work to build relationships with new locations who come into contact with CHEP assets, and manage all pallet recycler relationships located within their territory. The Asset Recovery Representative will work closely with Logistics Coordinators to schedule 3rd party collections, the Low Volume Recovery fleet to maximize the number of physical collections to this fleet, and the Asset Protection team to address locations / recyclers who choose to not accept CHEP’s ownership rights.

*The territories covered for this role are the West region of Inland Empire and Orange County*

Responsibilites

  • Visit, call on, and build relationships with nonparticipating distributors, unknown locations, and pallet recycler locations to recover CHEP assets that have fallen out of the network.
  • Utilize the best method for servicing and collecting CHEP pallets from locations. Options are the CHEP Low Volume Recovery fleet, CHEP CDL Fleet, CHEP scheduled 3rd party carriers, or for Asset Recovery Rep to personally make the collection.
  • Utilize company provided tools: CHEP vehicle, laptop, various databases to monitor flow in and out of your territory to locate and negotiate the successful return of our assets back into the network.
  • The Asset Recovery Representative has ultimate responsibility for tracking and recovery of all CHEP pallets that flow into their territories.
  • To be successful, this position requires continuous contact with the local recycler community, which is responsible for the recovery of over 17M CHEP pallets nationally last year.
  • Builds relationships with potential customers and encourages them to sign on as a participant on the CHEP program.
  • Completes company administrative duties on a timely basis.
  • Identifies and communicates potential situations of businesses buying / selling CHEP assets illegally.
  • Can clearly communicate CHEP’s ownership rights in an effort to educate and gain agreement for allowing the collection of CHEP assets.

Requirements:

  • AA degree or equivalent work experience
  • Candidate must have a clean motor vehicle driving record.
  • Candidate must be willing and able to lift 65lbs as needed.
  • Candidate must be able to obtain a DOT Medical card with no restrictions.
  • Minimum 2 years route sales and or, customer service
  • Prior workplace field experience in Operations, Sales, or Customer Service
  • Excellent selling and interpersonal skills
  • Personal computer skills with an emphasis on Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Capable of maintaining and organizing a home office
  • Ability to manage funds pertaining to business expenses
  • Possess time management skills.
