Job Summary
The OSP Engineer is responsible for the engineering and design of the most cost-effective, accurate and exceptional quality OSP construction work prints while meeting or exceeding all customer deadlines.

What Will You Do
What You Will Do
- Work in various customer proprietary systems (NDS) to manufacture a cost-effective engineered design for construction to place, splice, install and maintain network for the next generation.
- Identify assigned fiber/copper pairs at strategic access points and design an aerial and or underground path.
- Identify the necessary requirements to successfully attach fiber/copper cables to poles as well as place cables in the underground facilities/structures.
- Engineer in the public right of way and on private property avoiding conflicts with existing utility facilities.

- Bachelor’s degree in related industry
- 5+ years of OSP design work
- Valid Driver's license.
- Ability to plan and design projects with little oversight.
- Has a deep understanding of OSP planning, design and construction methods regarding FTTx/Copper.
- Capable of performing unusual requests for complicated QA or planning services with minimal explanation and oversight.
- Coordinate with personnel in remote offices to produce completed engineering packages and deliver them before the deadlines.
- Exceptional verbal and written skills in correspondence with the client/customer including face to face meetings.
- Experience and understanding of telecommunications outside plant engineering and construction techniques with either GO-95 or RUS.
- Experience working with Outside Plant Engineering in the following systems: AutoCAD, and or client-specific GIS software.
- Knowledge of fiber telecommunications networking, routing, and network management.
- OSP fielding and construction preferred but not required.
- Experience with project management processes and managing multiple tasks is very helpful.
- Experience with all Microsoft office products.
- Ability to meet/exceed deadlines.
- Be flexible, absorb direction with ease, including changes to schedule and workflow priorities.
- Critical thinking skills; make assessments and provide solutions to problems.
- Ability to maintain professional tact in a fast-paced work environment with internal personnel and clients.
- Knowledge of general permitting requirements for State Department of Transportation, as well as other state, county and city permitting agencies.
- Knowledge of traffic control plan designs and local/state regulations regarding traffic control.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment and in an outdoor and indoor work environment and in extreme weather conditions. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. This role routinely travels to customer sites as needed.
