Position Summary

The Precision Oncology Program Manager (POP) within Caris Life Sciences is responsible for implementing high visibility, transformative projects for accounts that have national and strategic impact. POP will be responsible for providing strategic insights to clients related to operations and technical enhancements for precision oncology. POP deploys point-of-care solutions, data management strategies and any other projects that optimize or customize an account’s precision oncology program. POP managers must be detail oriented and able to execute on a project until the project is complete, including but not limited to onboarding plans, utilization monitoring and project closure. This role will work closely with the SAM covering each region, and many of the tasks of the role will be prioritized by the regional needs as defined by the SAMs, AVPs, and the VP Strategic Collaborations. The POP team will coordinate with other members of PMI, the salesforce and others on simultaneous projects, and must have the ability to work with cross functional teams and communicate thoroughly. The ideal candidate must be able to understand operations at cancer centers, provide thoughtful solutions, manage projects, work collaboratively in a matrixed environment, have a baseline understanding of biomarkers and precision medicine, and have proficiency around molecular data utilization. Additional desirable experience includes working on or with an Electronic Health Record, clinical or translational research experience, and project management.

Job Responsibilities

  • EHR Integration Management and Point of Care solutions: This person will be responsible for leading projects to complete EHR integrations with priority accounts. They must build solutions that fit precision oncology workflows at health systems but do not deviate for the parameters of our compliant ordering requirements. This also requires the POP manager to oversee onboarding and subsequent monitoring of the project after technical integration is complete. In doing so the POP manager must be willing to appropriately handle protected health information (PHI) to successfully implement and test clinical-facing solutions.

  • Delivering Data Feeds: POP manager will guide the return of molecular data to the client after terms of the delivery have been negotiated in accordance with Caris policies and initiatives. This may include an evaluation of data use cases, visualization platforms, and an assessment of storage capacity, to ensure Caris data is maximized of the account. Data may include PHI.

  • Molecular Oncology Operations: POP is responsible for guiding any type of operational project that improves the quality of precision oncology care delivered by an account. Including but not limited to Molecular Tumor Board operations and co-branding initiatives.

  • Stakeholder engagement: This person will play an integral role in developing external relationships with stakeholders at client organizations that lead technology, data, and operational projects. They must discuss precision oncology under the context of these key areas and provide high level customer service to the stakeholders.

  • Application integration and partnerships: the POP manager is responsible for facilitating discussions with third party applications that are used by their clients in order to optimize the client's experience with our molecular results. This includes creating and disseminating justification material for mutually beneficial collaborations with before mentioned companies, planning integrations and coordinating with internal resources.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree with at least 2 years with relevant precision medicine or healthcare project management experience.

  • Strong experience with delivering presentations and coordinating with high level heath system leadership is crucial to the success of this role.

  • Proficient computer skills, which must include Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Zoom, Teams. With an ability to understand and pick up additional solutions.

  • General experience in at least one of the following specialties: oncology care, precision medicine, molecular oncology, hospital administration.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience and skills with virtual meeting platforms.

  • Must possess the ability to work collaboratively in a highly matrixed environment.

  • Demonstrate a focus on listening to and understanding client/customer needs and then delighting the client/customer by exceeding service and quality expectations. With a strong ability to follow up and meet client needs.

  • Must Possess a high degree of understanding of the needs of oncology providers, and how Caris products and offerings can meet those needs.

  • Explicitly trained or experienced with appropriate handling of Protected Health Information (PHI) in line with HIPAA and internal Caris Compliance.

  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously for various organizations.

  • Experience with molecular testing companies or other medical technology platforms or a working knowledge of oncology biomarkers.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (Masters or advanced medical certification) or significant precision medicine experience.

  • Experience with informatics or data projects related to Molecular results

  • Certification or considerable experience with one of the disciplines of project management (Six Sigma, PMP, etc).

  • Must have general experience in working with EHR integrations and other clinical solutions pertaining to oncology

  • Leadership role at a health system in the areas of research admin, bioinformatics, informatics or precision medicine is preferred.

  • Possess a strong understanding of standard health system processes, workflows, compliance and/or hospital administration.

  • Demonstrates an advanced knowledge of integration strategies for all key EHR platforms, including Epic Aura and OncoEMR Molecular Profiling Integration.

  • Has significant experience delegating internal resources appropriately for EHR and data projects, possessing a clear ability to manage resources outside of direct reports.

  • Experience with quality improvement projects in the healthcare environment, especially those pertaining to molecular oncology care.

  • Demonstrate decision making ability towards solving problems, while working under pressure and effectively communicating these solutions to co-workers and customers.

  • Ability to quickly learn and apply knowledge of proprietary Caris software programs.

  • Demonstrated ability to positively receive and respond to feedback for improvement and development.

  • Additional desirable experience includes working on or with an Electronic Health Record, clinical or translational research experience, Project and Program management, leadership, and management skills.

  • Approximately 50-75% travel and the ability to work flexible hours when required.

Annual Hiring Range

$115,000 - $145,000

Actual compensation offer to candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level. The pay ratio between base pay and target incentive (if applicable) will be finalized at offer.
