This position is in Cargill’s animal nutrition and health business, where we improve animal lives through better nutrition. Our team researches, innovates and creates solutions that deliver healthy results for our customers.

Job Purpose and Impact

Are you passionate about formulation? We are looking for a Formulator Specialist to formulate feed according to agreed product matrix. You will use formulation software (Method least cost) for all production runs in the factory, balancing efficiently: technical constraints, cost of formulation and raw material use according to supply plan. Key Accountabilities

  • Independently formulate and ensure that products are manufactured in accordance with applicable requirements and specifications, including labeling
  • Update the formulation systems with available product, raw material and regulatory data retrieving information from relevant sources and reporting, keeping the formulation data accurate.
  • Participate in accelerated continuous improvement projects that aim to improve the way we work within formulation and across functions.
  • Conduct implementation and evaluation of opportunities for substituting raw materials while keeping a consistant product quality.
  • Ensure a safe and secure workplace by taking an active part in improvements and proper behavior.
  • Ensure a close collaboration with operations, quality, nutrition technology and continuous improvement colleagues to achieve efficient and effective execution and high customer satisfaction.
  • Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Good communication and analytical skills for dealing with complex situations
  • Able to work independently and in groups
  • Animal nutrition knowledge
  • Minimum of two years of related work experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or other post-secondary degree Leadership education
  • Strong analytical skills, prior experience in feed production, experience in complex software systems, shown ability for strong learning, biological knowledge of raw material characteristics.

Position Information

The expected salary for this position is approx. $77,334.00 - 87,485.00. This position is eligible for a discretionary incentive award. The incentive award amount is dependent upon company performance and your personal performance. Full-Time (30+ hours) positions are eligible for a benefits package including the following (subject to certain collective bargaining agreements for Union positions): Paid time off; paid holidays; medical, vision and dental coverage; flexible spending accounts; life insurance; disability insurance; retirement savings; employee and family assistance program (EAP).
