The Lead Cloud Solutions Architect will help lead our department to realize and execute the vision for the on-property guest experience for Headless eCommerce Sites, eCommerce App capabilities, Search & Generative AI Engine Optimization, along with Content Management Systems and their Services.

This role is responsible for defining our Cloud Architecture strategy, which connects millions of customers to our entertainment, dining, shopping, and hospitality experiences

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record designing cloud-based systems that power websites, mobile apps, loyalty programs, and in-venue technology that creates personalized experiences across restaurants, shows, retail, and hotel stays.

The candidate must be able to clearly collaborate with and “bring along” multiple departments, product teams, and vendor/ partners simultaneously, and excel in a fast-paced environment. They will identify, nurture, and leverage threads across disparate departments and partners.

The role will own the platform team’s backlog and roadmap as a technical product owner; ensure cloud solutions support rapid deployment of digital products; drive FinOps practices and cloud cost optimization across multiple initiatives; collaborate closely with Network Operations and Cyber Security teams to ensure cloud architectures are meeting enterprise security standards and network performance requirements; partner with procurement and legal teams to negotiation enterprise technology contracts and service level agreements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Cloud Platform Strategy: Provides architectural leadership in shaping the Program’s cloud strategy, ensuring scalability, security, and cost optimization across all brands and business units. Partners with stakeholders to define and evolve cloud and hybrid-cloud adoption strategies, with an emphasis on Infrastructure as Code, containerization, and modern DevOps practices. Continuously evaluates emerging technologies and industry trends to drive a forward-looking strategy that accelerates digital transformation and business agility.

Cloud Platform Definition: Translates business objectives into actionable cloud architecture blueprints, technical roadmaps and backlogs. Defines standards for Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation), CI/CD pipelines, and container orchestration platforms (Docker, Kubernetes). Guides cross-functional teams in establishing the architectural principles, security baselines, and reference implementations that enable consistent, reliable, and scalable cloud solutions. Ensures that definitions align with enterprise transformation goals, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence.

Cloud Platform Readiness: Ensures organizational readiness for cloud adoption and modernization initiatives by assessing current capabilities, identifying gaps, and driving enablement programs. Coaches engineering, DevOps, and product teams in adopting cloud-native practices, including automated testing, observability, and continuous delivery. Establishes standards for deployment readiness, infrastructure provisioning, and operational handoff so that cloud solutions are production-ready, resilient, and aligned with business outcomes.

Cloud Platform Delivery: Leads the execution of cloud transformation and migration initiatives, ensuring delivery is on time, within budget, and aligned with enterprise objectives. Partners with engineering to oversee the design, deployment, and optimization of cloud environments using modern toolchains. Applies Agile, Lean, XP and SAFe patterns to accelerate delivery cycles, while maintaining architectural integrity and compliance standards.

Cloud Platform Communication: Provides clear and frequent communication to executive stakeholders and delivery teams on the strategy of cloud initiatives, risks, and mitigation strategies. Promotes transparency across technical and business teams by articulating architectural decisions, trade-offs, and long-term impacts. Fosters a collaborative environment that encourages open communication, rapid issue escalation, and shared accountability for success.

Cloud Platform Standards: Defines, maintains, and governs Program-wide standards for Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration, and observability practices, with embedded security controls. Partners with technology leaders to establish architectural guardrails, reusable patterns, and best practices that ensure consistency and reliability across all cloud deployments. Incorporates secure-by-design principles. Continuously evolves standards to incorporate lessons learned, industry benchmarks, and advancements in cloud-native and security technologies.

Cloud Platform Quality: Drives the quality and security of cloud implementations through rigorous design reviews, automated testing frameworks, and proactive monitoring. Ensures that platforms adhere to performance, reliability, and security requirements, including vulnerability management, secure configuration baselines and threat detection. Leveraging observability tools such as Dynatrace to identify and address issues before they impact the business, including potential security risks. Promotes a culture of “continuous improvement” by embedding quality into every stage of the delivery lifecycle, from infrastructure provisioning to production operations.

Cloud Platform Roadmap: Leads the creation and continuous refinement of the Program’s cloud platform roadmap and backlogs, aligning technical investments with business priorities. Defines short- and long-term milestones for cloud migration, modernization, and optimization efforts. Collaborates with senior leadership to secure funding, allocate resources, and sequence initiatives that deliver measurable value. Ensures the roadmap reflects both immediate tactical needs and the long-term vision for a modern, Agile, and resilient cloud ecosystem.

Financial Responsibilities:

The Lead Cloud Solutions Architect has the responsibility to manage and control resources and costs associated with the cloud platform technology that powers all Caesars Digital Hospitality Experiences.

Qualifications:

Years of Experience

  • Minimum of 12 years in related technical roles

  • Minimum of 4 years leading cloud/digital transformation initiatives or large-scale cloud migration projects

  • 5+ years of proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation), CI/CD pipelines, containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes), monitoring and observability tools, and modern DevOps toolchains

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required, with a MS/MBA or other relevant advanced degree preferred

  • Relevant cloud certifications (AWS Solutions Architect Professional) are highly desirable

Industry

  • Significant experience in leading teams/organizations in bringing high quality digital products to market

Technical

  • Deep proficiency in AWS or hybrid cloud architectures; think designing, building, and securing production applications that handle millions of website visits and mobile app sessions without a hiccup

  • Strong background in real-time data processing, event-driven architectures, and microservices that can handle major promotional campaign traffic spikes

  • Knowledge of e-commerce security standards, PCI DSS for payment processing, and customer data protection requirements

  • Understanding of network architecture, security frameworks, and how cloud solutions integrate with existing enterprise infrastructure

  • Experience with FinOps practices and cloud cost management to optimise spending whilst maintaining performance

  • Experience with monitoring, observability, and incident response for customer-facing digital platforms and e-commerce systems

Business and Product Skills

  • Natural curiosity about how technology can drive customer satisfaction, digital engagement, and revenue growth across online and offline channels

  • Experience translating complex technical concepts into business value propositions for marketing, operations, and executive leadership

  • Strong stakeholder management skills across diverse business units (Digital Marketing, Hotel Operations, F&B, Entertainment, Retail, IT Security, Network Operations)

  • Collaborative mindset with ability to work effectively across product, marketing, operations, security, and technology teams

  • Understanding of hospitality and entertainment industry dynamics and customer experience expectations
