C-Link

C-Link, legally known as Construction Link Limited, is a UK-based technology company that has developed a specialised software platform to streamline the subcontract procurement process within the construction industry. Founded in 2015 by two Quantity Surveyors, Paul Heming and Christopher Barber, the company was born out of their shared frustration with the inefficiencies and paper-based nature of tendering and procurement. They observed a lack of consistency in documentation and a limited ability for smaller to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to connect with a broad network of qualified subcontractors, which often hindered their ability to secure the best value for their projects.

The C-Link platform is designed to replicate the commercial expertise of a large contractor's procurement department, making it accessible and affordable for smaller developers and main contractors. It provides a suite of tools that automate and simplify critical procurement workflows. Key features include a supply chain CRM for managing contractor details, an automated document and contract builder to ensure consistency, and a tender analysis tool that facilitates easy comparison of bids against budgets. The platform also boasts a pre-qualified network of over 6,500 subcontractors, enabling users to competitively tender every package and mitigate risk. By centralising procurement data and automating administrative tasks, C-Link aims to significantly reduce the time and costs associated with this phase of a construction project, with the company reporting that users can save up to 400 hours of commercial administration time. The ultimate goal is to foster a more collaborative and transparent procurement environment that benefits both contractors and subcontractors, leading to improved project profitability and more successful outcomes.
