The Billing Analyst is responsible for performing the duties, tasks, and responsibilities of the demand out and settlement phases of assigned cases.
Administrative in nature, the responsibilities of the Billing Analyst include proactively communicating with providers to confirm the final balance on all
related bills and performing the initial lien search. The Billing Analyst will also review for medical payments benefits and move the case accordingly.
Job Description:
- Call providers to confirm the final balance as well as all payments and adjustments on all related medical bills.
- Send fully executed HIPAAs to providers when necessary.
- Review lien search website for related liens and notify the appropriate parties.
- Evaluate the case to determine if medical payments coverage applies and notify the Case Manager or Medpay Coordinator when necessary.
- Assess and notify the appropriate person(s) if any other coverage is discovered, including but not limited to, an additional health insurance or worker’s compensation.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required, Associate’s degree preferred.
- Two years’ relevant experience in a professional, customer-centric role required; professional experience in a legal or medical environment preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of tools required; knowledge of Case Management software (e.g., Needles/Filevine) preferred.
- Maintains exceptionally high standards of integrity and confidentiality.
