Job Summary:

Blavity Inc. is seeking a Senior Advisor, Health Tech & Informatics to serve as a strategic connector, ecosystem guide, and advisor across our expanding health innovation portfolio. This executive-level contractor will work closely with the CEO and SVP of AfroTech + Live Events to advance our thought leadership, partnerships, and convening strategy at the intersection of digital health, AI, and health equity.

The ideal candidate is a credible operator in the health tech and informatics ecosystem with a deep understanding of how innovation, equity, and technology converge. You may come from a background in medicine, clinical informatics, digital health, or enterprise leadership — and while a clinical degree (MD, DO, RN, PharmD) is a plus, it is not required.

This role is especially well-suited for someone seeking a fractional, high-impact engagement: a leader who wants to use their expertise and network to influence the future of equitable health innovation without a full-time commitment.

This role reports directly to the Office of the CEO and SVP of AfroTech + Live Events.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive Thought Leadership & Representation
    • Represent Blavity Inc. and its brands at major health innovation conferences (e.g., HLTH, HIMSS, AMA, APHA), serving as a speaker, moderator, or delegate.
    • Serve as second chair on strategic calls with digital health startups, government orgs, and enterprise partners—helping frame opportunities and navigate stakeholder dynamics.
    • Support internal team leaders with prep and debrief for high-stakes meetings and help shape strategic partnership approaches.
  • Curate Executive-Level Convenings
    • Host and co-lead Health Stack Dinners and roundtables in parallel with major industry events (e.g., JPM, HLTH, AfroTech)
    • Curate top-tier guest lists across public health, tech, pharma, and AI—ensuring the right mix of influence and innovation in the room.
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to drive meaningful engagement from both guests and Blavity’s leadership team.
  • Ecosystem Navigation & Strategic Introductions
    • Identify emerging companies, leaders, and institutions shaping the future of health equity and digital health
    • Advise AfroTech on partner prioritization and warm outreach strategies—facilitating introductions or suggesting pathfinding approaches.
    • Serve as a guide to the health tech and policy landscape, helping the team show up with relevance, clarity, and intention.
  • Content & Editorial Advising (Quarterly)
    • Meet quarterly with content and editorial teams to advise on emerging trends, policy developments, and industry movements.
    • Provide input on story framing, key narratives, and subject-matter experts for health equity, AI in health, and public policy content.

Key Qualifications:

  • Required Experience:
    • 10+ years of experience in health informatics, medicine, digital health, or health innovation leadership.

    • Strong network in digital health, informatics, or pharma.

    • Experience speaking or moderating on stages at industry events.

  • Additional Qualifications:
    • Clinical degree (MD, DO, RN, PharmD, etc.) a plus, but not required.
    • Deep expertise in health systems, clinical informatics, and the intersection of technology and health equity.
    • Comfortable representing organizations on stage and in high-level rooms
    • Demonstrated ability to connect across sectors: government, corporate, startup, and community
    • Strong network and relationships in health innovation, including familiarity with organizations such as AMA, CDC, NIH, Verily, or Gilead
    • Passion for elevating health equity and shaping the future of tech-enabled care
    • Familiarity with Black health initiatives, especially maternal health, chronic disease prevention, or blood donation
