About the role:
This role supports a large, multi-year federal contract with the Office of Head Start focused on improving how critical information is shared with families, educators, and community partners nationwide. The work is fast-paced but structured, with clear priorities, established processes, and a strong emphasis on quality and accessibility.
Success in this role means delivering clear, engaging, and accessible video content on a consistent cadence; collaborating effectively with content strategists, designers, and subject-matter experts; and reliably meeting deadlines in a highly collaborative, compliance-driven environment. Attention to detail, comfort working within defined standards, and a passion for making complex information easy to understand are key to thriving on this project.
This is a full-time position contingent on contract award by our client, with a defined performance period of one year with four one-year option periods. Compensation:
The salary range for this role is $68,000 – $73,000. In the spirit of transparency, most offers tend to land near the midpoint of the range. We make compensation decisions thoughtfully, considering your experience, the skills you bring, and our commitment to internal equity. Fairness and transparency are core to how we operate.
Responsibilities:
Edit and produce short- and long-form video content for websites, social media, email campaigns, and digital learning resources.
Edit webinar recordings and virtual events, ensuring fast turnaround and high production quality.
Collaborate with content strategists, designers, and subject-matter experts to translate complex information into clear, engaging visual stories.
Develop storyboards and scripts to guide the production process.
Develop basic motion graphics, title cards, and visual treatments to support storytelling.
Ensure all video content meets Section 508 accessibility standards, including captions, readable on-screen text, and audio clarity.
Organize and maintain video assets, project files, and documentation in shared repositories.
Manage work in a collaborative, Agile environment using tools like Jira, Smartsheet, Asana, and Box.
Continuously improve workflows, templates, and production standards as part of a long-term team.
Other relevant duties as assigned and qualified/trained to perform
Qualifications:
3+ years of professional experience in video editing or multimedia production.
Bachelor’s degree in video production, multimedia, communications, or equivalent experience preferred.
Portfolio of work demonstrating expertise in the responsibilities and requirements listed in this job description.
Strong proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud tools, especially Premiere Pro and After Effects.
Experience producing videos for web and social platforms.
Experience with accessibility best practices for video (captions, contrast, readability).
Strong communication skills and comfort working on cross-functional teams.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a structured environment.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance.
Nice to Have Skills and Experience:
Experience working with content management systems (e.g., Drupal)
Prior work with or for government, non-profits, or underserved communities
