Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a highly skilled Sr DevOps Engineer to own and scale CI/CD pipelines, release orchestration, and automation frameworks supporting Azure Landing Zone (ALZ) repositories. This fully remote role is critical to ensuring pipeline reliability, automated validation, and seamless release management across infrastructure-as-code and platform engineering workflows. You will work closely with engineering teams to drive efficiency, consistency, and quality across the Azure and GitHub ecosystem.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

• Design, build, and operate GitHub Actions-based CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and platform repositories
• Author and maintain YAML workflows to support build, validation, testing, and deployment processes
• Own release management lifecycle, including versioning, changelog automation, and release coordination
• Diagnose and resolve pipeline failures, validation errors, and CI/CD performance issues
• Implement and improve automated validation frameworks to ensure code quality and deployment reliability
• Drive automation efficiency, reducing manual intervention and improving pipeline scalability
• Manage artifact publishing workflows and release distribution processes
• Collaborate with engineering teams (e.g., ARM Core, platform teams) to resolve escalations and improve system reliability
• Contribute to open-source repository operations, including governance, workflows, and community contributions

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Expert-level experience with GitHub Actions and workflow automation
• Strong background in CI/CD pipeline design, implementation, and operations
• Hands-on experience with:
  • YAML-based workflow authoring
  • Release management and orchestration
  • Versioning strategies and changelog automation
• Deep familiarity with the Azure DevOps and GitHub ecosystem
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex pipeline and automation issues

PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience supporting Terraform and/or Bicep pipelines
• Knowledge of security scanning and DevSecOps best practices
• Experience with artifact management and publishing systems
• Familiarity with open-source development models and repository management
• Exposure to enterprise-scale Azure environments and infrastructure automation
• Preferred Microsoft Ecosystem experience (former FTE, or vendor)
