About Casey

Casey is an AI-native startup built inside BetterFutureLabs. It uses multi-agent and multimodal AI to radically accelerate insurance fraud investigations. Today, investigators waste hours sifting through disconnected information sources-criminal history, property records, documents, prior claims, and a seemingly endless amount of social media platforms. Casey automates that synthesis, acting as a smart assistant that helps investigators analyze, surface red flags, and produce reports in minutes.

The product is already live in beta and in use by early customers. It’s being rapidly developed and deployed in real-world fraud cases with active feedback from private investigators. Our mission is to bring modern AI to one of the most expensive, manually intensive processes in insurance.

We’re looking for a Cofounder-in-Residence to lead Casey’s traction, product roadmap and funding. This is a chance to step in early, validate, and become the full-time CEO.

What You’ll Do

• Drive Sales: Own outbound. Talk to investigators, carriers, and fraud teams. Design pilots and close real deals.

• Lay the GTM Foundation: Shape the early GTM plan we’ll use to reach investigators, carriers, and fraud teams-and own the process of testing and refining it.

• Validate the GTM Motion: Define the ICP, shape the wedge, test pricing. Iterate quickly based on what the market says.

• Shape the Narrative: Build the story and pitch that connects with both customers and investors. Translate user pain into vision.

• Lead the Company: If aligned, incorporate Casey with us and become its full-time CEO, with full backing from BetterFutureLabs.

• Own the Product Roadmap: Through customer feedback and discovery conversations help define our must have vs nice to have feature set.

About You

• Resourceful - You figure out a way to get into the rooms you need to be in no matter what, no job is below you, roll up your sleeves, use AI to get leverage.

• You lead with urgency, allergic to the “I’ll do it tomorrow” mindset, don’t drop a followup, automate what you can, and ship before others even start writing a spec.

• You’ve led or founded early-stage products, and know how to thrive in ambiguity and move without permission.

• You’re comfortable selling, and excited to spend your time talking to customers and getting to “yes.” or “no.” because no’s can be just as valuable.

• You move fast, are allergic to “wait and see,” and are energized by getting real traction under real deadlines.

• You want to be a Cofounder-not just in title, but in ownership, mindset, and commitment.

• Bonus: You’ve worked in or around insurance, legaltech, compliance, or investigations-or you’re deeply curious and quick to ramp up.

• Bonus: You’ve got a network in the insurance or investigations space and know how to leverage it to get pilots moving.

Why This Matters

Insurance fraud is a multi-billion dollar problem hiding in plain sight. It takes many forms-some massive, others surprisingly brazen. In New Jersey, a former corrections officer recently admitted to fraudulently collecting over $250,000 in Social Security disability benefits while secretly holding a physically demanding private job. In California, a police officer allegedly collected nearly $600,000 in disability payments while being spotted at Disneyland and partying at Stagecoach music festival. And just this week, the U.S. Department of Justice announced a $14 billion crackdown involving hundreds of defendants tied to health insurance fraud schemes across the country.

Casey could have caught all of these cases of fraud. The need for better, faster, more scalable investigative tools is urgent-and Casey is built to meet that need.
