Role Overview
We are seeking a hands-on Omnissa (Workspace ONE) expert for one of our clients to execute a detailed remediation and enhancement plan for a large-scale, multi-environment device management program. The environment includes:
- 6,000+ Android (Zebra) and iOS devices in retail stores—with strict OS version constraints for legacy app compatibility
- Warehouse devices (Android tablets/scanners, Windows PCs)
- Corporate endpoints (Windows, iOS, limited Mac)
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and optimize Omnissa policies and configurations for Android, iOS, and Windows devices in retail, warehouse, and corporate settings, as mapped in a comprehensive requirements matrix.
- Enforce OS version controls (e.g., Android 10/11 max for stores) and ensure compliance with business-critical app compatibility limitations.
- Design and deploy configuration profiles, compliance policies, and application management—including silent installs, role/location-based scoping, and layered policies for device groups.
- Enable and support zero-touch onboarding, Apple Business Manager, Android Enterprise, and OEMConfig for Zebra devices, with an emphasis on future migration to fully managed modes.
- Integrate with JIRA for ticketing, Microsoft Entra ID (hybrid/on-prem), and endpoint security tools (Tanium, SentinelOne, Arctic Wolf) as required.
- Automate reporting, compliance, and drift repair; ensure robust audit trails and support for remote assist/screen sharing, especially for troubleshooting Zebra and iOS devices.
- Support scripting, certificate management, and Wi-Fi/VPN profile deployment; address bandwidth-sensitive deployment scenarios in low-bandwidth retail environments.
- Document and transfer operational knowledge to managed services teams; serve as escalation for advanced troubleshooting and platform limitations.
Required Experience
- Candidates must demonstrate specific experience with Omnissa in retail/warehouse settings and direct involvement in large-scale device onboarding, policy design, and troubleshooting under strict OS and application constraints.
- Deep, hands-on Omnissa/Workspace ONE experience in retail and warehouse environments with large Android (Zebra), iOS, and Windows fleets.
- Proven ability to implement and remediate complex MDM requirements, including OS version enforcement, device compliance, remote assist, and automation.
- Familiarity with JIRA, Entra ID, endpoint security integrations, and managing device onboarding in bandwidth-constrained environments.
- Strong documentation, stakeholder communication, and operational handoff skills.
Preferred
- Experience with scripting, certificate-based authentication, and remote troubleshooting of Zebra/Android/iOS devices.
- Prior work in retail, warehouse, or distributed enterprise environments.
Location: Remote, with occasional travel as needed.
