Arbor Energy is building zero-emission baseload power systems for grid-scale and industrial applications. Founded in 2022 in El Segundo, California, the company applies aerospace engineering experience from rocket engines and advanced turbomachinery to terrestrial energy systems. Its core technology combines a supercritical CO₂ turbine, oxy-fuel combustion, integrated carbon capture, and fuel-flexible operation. The company says this closed-loop approach can deliver firm electricity in less than two years while conserving water, eliminating operating emissions, and reducing permitting burdens.

Arbor has moved rapidly from demonstration into commercial development. Its 1 MW ATLAS pilot was delivered to the company’s test site in 2025, spun to more than 35,000 RPM on cold CO₂, and ran at supercritical conditions in 2026. Arbor also secured $55 million in Series A funding and signed an agreement with GridMarket to supply up to 5 GW of zero-emission baseload power. The company built and demonstrated its first commercial system, HALCYON, and targets first power in 2028. With headquarters and engineering operations in El Segundo and a test facility in San Bernardino, Arbor is positioning itself to supply dependable clean power for data centers, industrial users, and grid-scale projects.
