Research Advisory Forums, Senior Manager
What you will do
Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will oversee the coordination, execution, and strategic management of Amgen’s Science Advisory Forum (SAF) and Target Discovery Advisory Forum (TDAF). These forums are highly technical and central to advancing the scientific excellence and innovation of Amgen’s Research Portfolio. The individual will ensure that both forums operate efficiently, drive impactful discussions and foster cross-functional collaboration among internal teams. Additionally, the Senior Manager champions project management excellence, and guarantees timely communication and strategic alignment across project teams.
Responsibilities
Oversees the SAF and TDAF process from planning to execution, ensuring alignment with organizational strategies to optimize program executions and enhance decision-making.
Coordinates with SAF and TDAF co-chairs, setting priorities, aligning agendas, and managing deliverables for seamless integration.
Develops strategic partnerships with internal stakeholders, aligning SAF and TDAF activities with Research governance bodies for consistency across communication and operations.
Facilitates SAF and TDAF, ensuring effective communication and implementation by downstream functions to drive desired outcomes.
Partners with commercialization community to lead improvement initiatives and streamline decision-making.
Acts as the central contact for communications between Project Teams and SAF/TDAF, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
Guides Project Teams through SAF and TDAF meeting preparation, advising on questions, responses, and aligning presentations with forum expectations.
Applies project management and collaboration tools like MS Teams, SharePoint, and Smartsheet to enhance meeting management and team communication.

Basic Qualifications:
Doctorate degree & 2 years of technology experience OR
Master’s degree & 4 years of technology experience OR
Bachelor’s degree & 6 years of technology experience OR
Associate’s degree and 10 years of technology experience OR
High school diploma / GED and 12 years of technology experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Extensive experience in biopharmaceutical R&D and drug development.
Advanced degree in a relevant field with substantial cross-functional leadership experience in governance within the biopharmaceutical industry.
Proven expertise in leading complex governance structures and facilitating critical initiatives across diverse operational landscapes
Drug development experience including in one or more core drug development and commercialization functions and experience leading teams through governance process.
Program and project management skills with experience in a healthcare-related environment, operationalizing critical initiatives, including cross-functional strategic planning, development of integrated plans, monitoring and driving execution to plan.
Emotional intelligence skills including influencing without authority and navigating within a matrix environment.
Experience using Project Management tools, methodologies, practices and infrastructure, as related to the Biopharmaceutical Industry

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
