Overview

Our Solution Architect team supports technical solutions and capabilities, and serves as a tiger team and catalyst for our company growth. We work across the company to advance program innovation, build customer-focused solutions, and win strategically important efforts.

We need Solutions Architects with A-level writing and drawing skills, a deep well of curiosity, and a strong understanding of our customers in defense and civilian mission engineering and information technology.

This role works closely with Capture, Proposal Management, and senior technical staff to develop the right solutions for a wide range of customers, spanning each of the Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Army, and Fourth Estate; the law enforcement community; and other civilian agencies. We must be able to quickly digest and understand complex challenges and technology areas, including aerospace engineering, underseas engineering, ISR, modeling and simulation, digital engineering, cybersecurity, data analytics, artificial intelligence, and systems engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Develop technical solutions for federal and DoD proposals and translate them into high-quality, customer-focused proposal language.
  • Create technical artifacts with narratives, diagrams, workflows, and tables to support the proposed solution.
  • Participate in capture initiatives for specific opportunities, supporting early customer engagement and outreach.
  • Advance company innovation and solutions through direct program engagement, including customer-facing assignments.
  • Build out company solutions and strategies to capitalize leading-edge technologies and build new business.
  • Evolve solutions from paper to reality, creating structure, features, branding, and IP.

Qualifications

    • Must have a strong background in technical responsibilities aligned with the core competencies of our company – IT, Engineering, Test & Evaluation, Training, and Program Support.
    • Preferred skillsets in cybersecurity, ISR systems, modeling and simulation, digital engineering, undersea engineering, aerospace engineering, and data analytics.
    • 10+ years of experience in defense or IT working directly with customers and Government acquisition programs.
    • 3+ years of experience in writing technical proposal content for federal or DoD solicitations.
    • Demonstrated excellence in proposal writing and editing skills, with the ability to produce clear, persuasive, and compliant proposal narratives.
    • Familiarity with federal and DoD acquisition processes and proposal structures.
    • Familiarity with using and branding towards alternative acquisition strategies.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Powerpoint, and collaboration tools such as SharePoint.
    • Ability to manage deadlines and deliver high-quality work in a proposal-driven environment.
    • Experience with coding, data analytics, and prompt engineering.
    • TS/SCI highly preferred.
    • 100% remote position.
    • Some travel expected, about 50% to DC metro area.
    • Familiarity with APMP or Shipley proposal best practices.
    • Experience supporting large-scale proposals from organizations such as FEDSIM.

Pay Transparency Statement

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $191,500.00/Yr. - USD $319,700.00/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law. AMERICAN SYSTEMS provides for the welfare of its employees and their dependents through a comprehensive benefits program by offering healthcare benefits, paid leave, retirement plans, insurance programs, and education and training assistance.
