As a Field Service Engineer for Agilent, you will work at a variety of labs, so having an appetite for continuously learning about new instruments, software, and consumables is key. Applying your communication skills, creativity, and can-do attitude is essential. The ability to help solve customer problems and a commitment to delivering the highest levels of customer service are key to building customer success.
You will be responsible for supporting our customers with on-site installation, preventive maintenance, and repair of Agilent LC / LC-GC systems. Our varied product lines include hardware, software, and networking products as well as operating systems.
Installs and optimizes hardware/software/network products and configurations at customer sites
Diagnoses and resolves product performance problems
Performs maintenance and repairs
Ensures customer satisfaction by advising customers on preventive maintenance and configurations, which may impact product performance
Proactively responds to potential equipment issues to prevent unplanned interruption of customers' business
Deliver fully integrated solutions, which may include peripherals, communications, operating systems, and applications software
Train other field engineers and customers in the solutions
Territory Coverage
The ideal candidate will reside in the state of WI and reside close to either Madison or Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
The position requires an active driver's license.
Company Vehicle Program: Either vehicle mileage reimbursement or a company car is eligible for this territory.
Territory: WI, covering IL, MI, and IN as needed.
Travel 50% across the state and could include weekend work, overtime, and overnight travel, as needed.
Job Requirement:
Meet Agilent-approved customer/vendor credentialing requirements necessary to gain site access, unless prohibited by law. These requirements vary by customer/vendor and may include, but are not limited to: post-employment background checks, various forms of drug testing, vaccinations, fingerprinting, proof of valid identification, and/or adherence to customer-specific substance abuse programs. Your consent to participate in customer-requested screening is a requirement of this position.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s, Master’s, or other university-level degree in a science-related field (e.g., Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or similar) is highly preferred. Applicants with an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may also be considered.
1–2+ years of hands-on experience with Liquid Chromatography (LC) and Gas Chromatography (GC) systems, including setup, troubleshooting, and routine maintenance.
Familiarity with Liquid and Gas Chromatography (LC and GC) systems, including operational knowledge and data interpretation.
Ability to solve high-impact problems related to product availability, typically focused on system or solution-level issues.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong customer relationship-building skills are essential.
Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
A valid driver’s license is required for this position.
