HIM Operations Specialist I

The HIM Operations Specialist I is responsible for accurately uploading and indexing outside records, creating or selecting patient and encounter information, and analyzing medical records for missing documentation and signatures. The role also involves collaborating with data integrity and providing support to clinicians regarding record completion activities.

Requirements

• Accurately upload/Index outside records using applicable software
• Creates or selects the appropriate patient, encounter, and/or order while assigning the correct document type and description
• Analyzes the content of the medical record for missing documentation and signatures
• Applies knowledge of medical terminology and nomenclature to accurately identify documentation needs
• Collaborates with Data integrity or other functional areas to ensure errors in documentation discovered are communicated for Chart Correction
