Student QA Engineer (Internship/Entry-Level)

Key Responsibilities

• Your focus will be on learning and applying quality principles within an agile environment:
• Test Case Execution: Execute and document manual test cases following detailed instructions, validating new features and fixes across various user scenarios.
• Defect Management: Learn to identify, accurately document, and track software defects (bugs) using test management tools (like JIRA).
• Requirement Review: Assist senior QA members in reviewing project requirements to contribute to the creation of initial test strategies.
• Agile Engagement: Participate in relevant Agile ceremonies (e.g., daily stand-ups, sprint planning) to understand how QA fits into the development cycle.
• Process Learning: Focus on learning the current project methodology and quality standards, asking questions to ensure compliance.
• Collaboration: Work with developers and designers to understand how software is built and to help foster a quality mindset across the team.
• Basic Automation: Observe and assist senior QA engineers in maintaining and running existing automated test scripts.

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimal experience is required. We are looking for curious, detail-oriented individuals:
• Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Aptitude: Detail-oriented and self-motivated. Must have exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
• English Proficiency: Intermediate to advanced English level (B2 or higher). Ability to communicate effectively in technical discussions, read technical documentation, and write clear bug reports.
• Foundational Knowledge (Preferred):
• Familiarity with core concepts of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and various testing methodologies (e.g., functional, regression).
• Basic knowledge of Web elements (HTML/CSS) and how web applications function.
• Basic knowledge of SQL for data validation.
• Basic programming knowledge: Exposure to at least one programming language such as Python, Java, or JavaScript. Understanding of basic Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts (classes, objects, methods, inheritance).
• Soft Skills:
• Willingness to join calls with voice and actively participate.
• Commitment to taking ownership of assigned learning tasks.
• Strong collaborative skills with a willingness to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Foundational Knowledge Desired (Areas to Explore):

• Demonstrating curiosity and a basic understanding of any of the following is a plus:
• Exposure to API testing concepts and HTTP methods (GET, POST,etc).
• Familiarity with the concept of test automation (e.g., Selenium or Cypress).
• Basic understanding of automation frameworks and design patterns, including: Page Object Model (POM) for organizing test code, Testing Frameworks (e.g., TestNG, JUnit, pytest), Build Tools (e.g., Maven, Gradle), and Reporting tools.
• Basic familiarity with version control systems (e.g., basic Git commands such as clone, commit, push, pull).
