Victor Cheptumo
@victorcheptumo
International Medical Laboratory Scientist with expertise in diagnostics, quality systems, and biosafety.
What I'm looking for
I am an ASCP-certified Medical Laboratory Scientist with over seven years of hands-on laboratory experience across diagnostics, quality control, and biosafety. I combine clinical laboratory practice with programmatic experience supporting donor-funded health projects.
I have led SOP development, implemented EQA programs, and managed equipment calibration and maintenance to ensure high-quality results. My work as a viral load focal person achieved a 96% suppression rate and reduced turnaround time to three days.
I have trained and mentored more than 200 health workers in biosafety and biosecurity, and I routinely supported capacity building, sample referral networks, and quality audits. I contribute to molecular diagnostics workflows including GeneXpert and HIV viral load testing.
Recently I have expanded into AI evaluation for medicine, developing domain-specific prompts and assessing LLM outputs for scientific accuracy to improve model understanding of complex clinical cases.
