Val Samuya
@valsamuya
Aspiring physicist with strong skills in computational modeling.
What I'm looking for
I am a dedicated and passionate student pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Applied Physics at the University of the Philippines Los Baños, where I have achieved Magna Cum Laude honors. My academic journey has been enriched by relevant coursework in Computational Physics and High Performance Computational Physics, which have equipped me with a solid foundation in both theoretical and practical aspects of the field.
As a Research Intern at the National Institute of Physics, I gained hands-on experience in systems administration and high-performance computing. I successfully set up a computing cluster using SLURM and conducted electronic structure calculations with Quantum Espresso. My current role as a Research Member in the Quantum Transport and Quantum Thermodynamics Group allows me to further explore complex models, such as the 2D Potts model, through Monte Carlo simulations and finite-size scaling analysis. I am committed to advancing my research skills and contributing to the scientific community.
