Uwem Johnson

I am a passionate and driven lawyer committed to fostering development, stability, and sustainability through impactful laws, policies, and regulations. I bring legal research, writing, mentorship, and certifications to support societal progress, with a keen interest in good governance, mental health, and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Currently, I am serving as the Programs Officer for YALI Network Akwa Ibom, leading programs that empower young leaders. I also serve in external relations and legal roles at Tovero Energy Ltd, including Lead Partnerships External Relations and Legal, and previously as a Legal Administrative Officer|DPO. I’ve been privileged to volunteer across charity outreaches, orphanages and correctional facilities, voter education, mental health advocacy, and governance-focused initiatives.

As a lawyer, my interests span corporate practice, ESG, regulatory compliance, energy law, and clean energy policies. My research has explored clean cooking solutions and sustainable energy transitions, and I’m always eager to connect and collaborate with like-minded professionals working toward a more sustainable and equitable world.
