Troy Olson
@troyolson
Civil engineering student focused on water resources, hydraulics, and stormwater design.
What I'm looking for
I am a civil engineering student specializing in hydraulics, hydrology, and water resources with hands-on research and field experience. I consistently apply technical tools like AutoCAD Civil 3D, ArcGIS, MATLAB, and EPA SWMM to deliver practical engineering solutions.
My research includes NSF-funded geotechnical work using centrifuge testing and development of 3D imaging workflows to monitor crack formation and erosion, and I co-authored papers evaluating generative AI for environmental engineering and depth monitoring in centrifuge testing.
I have industry experience producing boundary and topographic surveys, assisting subdivision and stormwater design, and supporting civil infrastructure drafting and CAD tasks. I also served as Environmental Lead on a multi-building dorm capstone project managing stormwater design, ESA Phase I/II, hazardous material removal, and LEED planning.
As a student leader and tutor, I communicate complex concepts clearly, manage outreach and social media for campus organizations, and hold certifications including OSHA 10, Procore Associate, Certified SOLIDWORKS Associate, and Urban Hydrology and GSI training.
