What I'm looking for

I’m looking for a backend role where I can design REST APIs and event-driven services, deploy on cloud-native infrastructure (Docker/Kubernetes/AWS), and collaborate in agile teams to improve reliability, performance, and measurable product impact.

I’m a backend engineer with close to 3 years of experience building and maintaining distributed PHP microservices at Jumia, one of Africa's largest e-commerce platforms. Day to day, I design REST APIs and event-driven services, and I focus on reliability and performance at scale across multiple markets.

I build and integrate backend services in PHP (Symfony / Laravel) and Java, using RabbitMQ and Apache Kafka for event-driven communication. I also containerise and ship with Docker, support Kubernetes-based orchestration, manage MySQL data integrity, and monitor production with New Relic and Grafana—always working with Jira/Confluence and structured CI/CD practices to keep code quality high.
