Rishank Jain

I’m a Backend Engineer focused on building reliable, scalable production systems using Python, Go, PostgreSQL, and cloud-native infrastructure. I enjoy working on problems around API performance, database optimization, distributed systems, observability, deployment automation, and production reliability.

At Avinya Neurotech, I work across a distributed architecture of 8+ services and currently own four production-grade microservices. My responsibilities span API design, database architecture, deployments, production troubleshooting, scaling, and performance optimization. I build and operate REST APIs using FastAPI, PostgreSQL, and TimescaleDB, and have reduced API response latency and processing overhead by 40% through query optimization, indexing, batching, and concurrent execution.

I also work closely with infrastructure and DevOps. I manage GitHub CI/CD pipelines and containerized deployments on Azure and AKS/Kubernetes, and have implemented production observability using Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry for metrics, monitoring, tracing, alerting, and distributed-service troubleshooting. My broader backend experience includes Redis, RabbitMQ, WebSockets, asynchronous processing, concurrency, Docker, Docker Swarm, Nginx, and relational and NoSQL databases.

Before my current role, I worked as a Python Backend Developer Intern, where I built Flask APIs for production analytics workflows processing 10K+ records and worked on MySQL schema design, query optimization, and indexing. Outside of work, I’ve built backend and systems-focused projects in Python and Go, including a Python package published on PyPI that has received 12,000+ downloads and a concurrent Go service using goroutines, channels, and worker pools.

I’ve completed my BTech in Computer Science with a specialization in Artificial Intelligence, graduating with a 9.2 CGPA. I’m particularly interested in Backend Engineering and Platform Engineering opportunities where I can work on high-performance APIs, databases, distributed services, cloud infrastructure, and systems that need to remain reliable under real production workloads.
