What I'm looking for

I’m looking for hands-on engineering work where I can run underground telecom builds safely, hit daily targets, and use teamwork plus self-driven problem solving to deliver high-quality results on time.

I’m a confident, outgoing engineer who enjoys meeting new people and solving problems. I work great on a team, but I can also work extremely well on my own, staying punctual, hard working, and adaptable to any new role.

In engineering, I started as an apprentice at Brocklesby Ltd, carrying out daily Mechanical and Electrical engineering tasks, including fabrication and welding. I also supported maintenance and project work across departments, building strong engineering fundamentals and becoming electrical biased because that area felt the most interesting.

Today, I’m working as a Telecommunications Engineer with Cumberland Comms on UG pre build—digging, laying cable in subduct, using existing BT ducting, splicing in the CMJ, and testing at the property. I’m responsible for hitting daily targets, managing multiple jobs within tight timeframes, and delivering the work safely using my recognized UG, civils, NRSWA, confined spaces, asbestos awareness, and first aid training.

Perform UG pre-build work including digging to lay cable inside subduct and running cable using existing ducting. Splice in CMJ in the pit and test light at the customer property, with additional overhead work performed as required.
