Omar Medhat Mohamed Mousa Mandour
@omarmedhatmohamedmou
Entry-level electrical engineer specializing in power systems, substation design, and protection systems with internship and project experience.
What I'm looking for
I’m a recent Power and Electrical Machines Engineering graduate from Ain Shams University, combining solid engineering fundamentals with hands-on internship exposure across oil & gas and energy (BP Egypt, Petrobel, Agiba Petroleum, Dapetco). I focus on turning technical analysis into reliable designs, documentation, and field-ready outcomes.
In my Siemens Energy & UGEC sponsored graduation project, I designed a complete 220/22/22 kV GIS substation (Primary and Secondary scope) as part of a 6-engineer team. I delivered general layout and raceway design, lighting, OSLD, protection & metering schemes (CT/VT sizing and panel layout), and interlocking & protection logic diagrams.
I also engineered AC/DC auxiliary systems and performed earthing design per IEEE Std 80, validated with ETAP, CYMGRD & XGSLab, along with lightning protection system design. To support confident engineering decisions, I conducted load flow, short-circuit, relay coordination, and insulation studies, including SAS architecture and IP addressing scheme definition.
Through internships, I strengthen my engineering judgment with HSE-first thinking and system-level verification—analyzing hazardous area classifications, supporting P&ID-based checks for critical instrumentation, monitoring maintenance procedures and protection systems, and inspecting MV switchgear during maintenance. I’m now seeking a challenging engineering role where I can apply my technical expertise to deliver safe, accurate, and well-planned electrical solutions.
