Mima Mugena

I’m an accountant with extensive experience in accounting, financial reporting, tax compliance, payroll management, budgeting/forecasting, and audit. I worked in the accounting/audit field for close to five years in two of the big 4 audit firms, including PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC) and Deloitte and Touché.

In my recent role on the East African Crude Oil Pipeline, I led the month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate posting of journal entries, including accruals, payroll allocations, and manual adjustments. I prepared financial statements and monthly management reports, maintained a clean general ledger through transaction review and discrepancy resolution, and documented internal controls to strengthen compliance.

Previously as an Audit Associate, I supported audit engagements from risk assessment and planning through detailed testing of financial transactions and balances. I reviewed general ledger accounts and supporting documentation, identified discrepancies and internal control gaps, and prepared high-quality audit reports and working papers aligned with professional standards.

I’m currently pursuing the final level of ACCA, and I bring strong ERP experience across Oracle, SAP, and Workday to deliver accurate, compliant reporting with close attention to detail.
