Experienced wildland firefighter and aviation-qualified leader with global experience and diverse outdoor operations skills.
What I'm looking for
I am an experienced wildland firefighter and aviation-qualified leader with over several seasons leading helitack crews and managing complex wildfire operations. I bring a global perspective from 27 years of living and working across multiple countries.
In my current role with the Washington State Department of Natural Resources I advanced from Squad Boss to Helicopter Commander, overseeing helitack crew operations and participating in 50+ fire deployments. I have prior helitack experience with the Bureau of Land Management and certification in specialized helicopter procedures including single-skid, toe-in, and hover exit/entry.
My background combines hands-on field leadership with outdoor instruction and public safety roles: park ranger, sailing instructor, lifeguard, international tour guide, and college-level physical education instructor. I also hold a Master’s in International Relations and International Business and a BS in Kinesiology with sport psychology focus.
I maintain a broad technical and safety skill set including pilot and drone certifications, commercial driver’s license, Wilderness First Responder and CPR/First Aid, plus additional technical certifications that support operational readiness and remote mission execution.
