@milespickens
Software engineer focused on hospice EMR and Medicare billing, with full-stack experience and strong customer service.
What I'm looking for
I build and support healthcare software, with deep practical knowledge of Hospice Medicare billing and “knows some Hospice regulations.” I’m happiest bridging clinical workflows with reliable software that improves billing outcomes.
As Co Founder at Fuel For Healthcare, I’m the “Maker of Hospice Engine EMR” and a “self proclaimed expert in Hospice Medicare billing.” I aim to help hospices find an EMR that supports accurate, efficient operations.
Previously, as Sr. Web Developer, Full Stack at HealthEssentials, Inc., I created an electronic billing module to remove the need for a third-party service, improving “billing claim accuracy,” reporting, AR, and statistics. I also led a major effort to recreate an Access Database application for the web, strengthening security, “HIPAA compliance,” speed, functionality, and user experience.
Earlier at Public Engines, Inc., I worked across implementations and support—“Implement[ing] the information exchange” between law enforcement record databases and a website database, and maintaining proprietary software and MSSQL databases for “~1000 Medical clinics.” I bring a hands-on, service-minded approach to delivering and sustaining systems.
