Michael Bammeke

I'm a Senior DevOps and Software Engineer with over 10 years of professional experience spanning cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, Linux systems administration, and backend development.

My career began in Linux systems administration, where I developed a strong foundation in infrastructure management, networking, automation, and system reliability. I subsequently specialized in DevOps engineering, working extensively with AWS, GCP, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, Ansible, CI/CD pipelines, and observability tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.

Throughout my career, I've worked with international organizations, including the Linux Foundation, HP, CloudFactory, and RuggedNetworks. At the Linux Foundation, I contributed to the architecture and development of LFX Insights, building Go-based microservices, automated project onboarding, and data ingestion pipelines. At CloudFactory, I helped maintain and optimize CI/CD pipelines supporting over 20 microservices. I've also designed and operated multi-cloud Kubernetes environments and led infrastructure automation initiatives.

More recently, I expanded my software engineering experience by developing Laravel-based microservices deployed on AWS ECS, working with REST APIs, asynchronous messaging, and distributed backend systems. This experience has given me a valuable perspective on both building applications and operating the infrastructure that supports them.

I'm particularly passionate about cloud-native technologies, infrastructure automation, distributed systems, platform engineering, and solving complex reliability and scalability challenges. I enjoy understanding systems at a fundamental level and building tools and infrastructure that make engineering teams more productive.

I'm currently looking for international remote opportunities as a Senior DevOps Engineer, Platform Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer, or Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, where I can combine my infrastructure expertise and software engineering background to build reliable, scalable, and efficient platforms.
