Lindsey Prodin
@lindseyprodin
Chemical Process Safety Engineer focused on hazard analysis, audits, and safer operations through data-driven risk reduction.
What I'm looking for
I’m a Chemical Engineer with experience in food manufacturing, pulp and paper, and customer service, and I bring a strong sense of fun to serious work. I’m passionate about finding the best way—and I’m seeking to build a career in safety through chemical process safety and hazard prevention. I also earned recognition like National Gold Scholar and a Co-REU Grant.
In my Chemical Process Safety Engineer role at Georgia Pacific, I led and coordinated Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) for OSHA 29 CFR 1910.119-covered processes, ensuring identification, evaluation, and mitigation of residual process safety risks. I re-established a bulk chemical transfer audit program, directed an internal audit with a tracked remediation plan, and strengthened document control so the plant could be ready for outside and internal audits. I also trained personnel on key hazards and procedures, managed incident reporting and resolution, and updated the Hydrogen Sulfide management program to protect personnel.
Before that, my Cargill Co-Op experience strengthened my continuous improvement and safety habits: I completed Lean Six Sigma White Belt certification, led a team to standardize digital document storage, designed a Power BI report to improve access to quality metrics, and conducted weekly safety audits. I also supported hands-on technical work as an Undergraduate Research Assistant operating and troubleshooting a pyrolysis pilot plant, and I’ve led community-focused initiatives as Phi Delta Chi’s President and Philanthropy Chair.
