In my internship at a venture-backed recruitment startup, I built a robust Python web scraping program to enrich internal databases with 10,000+ company descriptions and stock quotes, improving research efficiency by 50%+. I also implemented a core crash reporter and used data insights to fix the top causes of application crashes, reducing customer support calls by 30%. On top of that, I designed and executed 50+ E2E automated tests with Selenium and Protractor to simulate real user behavior and improve software reliability.

Earlier, as a Java Developer Intern, I led a transition to a paperless workflow by developing an electronic booking system, cutting labor costs by 30% and office overhead by 10%. I translated complex business questions into scalable technical use cases and data model requirements, and I created structured UML diagrams (activity, sequence, and class) using Microsoft Visio to align engineering with product goals.

I also bring this drive to my projects: I co-designed a movie recommendation app using Python during a competitive 3-day hackathon, leveraging 50+ data points to deliver personalized recommendations and earning “Most Innovative Project.” And through my Pintos-style Unix-based operating system build in C++, I gained deep appreciation for fundamentals—architecture, correctness, and performance—earning First Prize out of 100+ teams.
