Heernakshi Patel

I am a dedicated and empathetic Social Service Work (SSW) student with hands-on experience in long-term care, mental health, and community outreach settings. My passion lies in promoting wellness, empowerment, and equity for vulnerable populations. I am focused on trauma-informed care, elder support, and culturally inclusive services, and I am prepared to bring compassion, organization, and professionalism to an entry-level support or outreach role.

In my role as a Social Service Worker Intern at Ivan Franko Homes, I supported elderly residents with emotional regulation, personal hygiene routines, and social engagement. I facilitated therapeutic group programs and contributed to individualized care plans, developing skills in culturally competent care and building rapport with residents facing cognitive challenges. Additionally, my volunteer experience with Humankind and Niramay Seva Foundation allowed me to conduct wellness check-ins and deliver online psychoeducation, advocating for inclusive support services for aging individuals and newcomers.
