Emma Lively
@emmalively
I research complex legal and biomedical issues and translate them for accessible public understanding.
What I'm looking for
I'm a J.D. candidate at the University of Notre Dame, where I lead the St. Thomas More Society and serve as Executive Notes Editor for the Journal of Emerging Technologies.
At Napa Legal Institute, I researched state tax-compliance issues and wrote educational blogs that made complex legal topics accessible to religious organizations and non-legal audiences. As a research assistant to Professor O. Carter Snead, I analyzed scientific literature on artificial embryos and assessed embryonic-research compliance with national and international guidelines.
My background also includes neuroscience research at Vanderbilt Institute of Imaging Science and clinical-study support at Roper Clinical Biotechnology Research Institute. Before law school, I developed student leaders, raised funds, and organized local and regional events as a missionary with the Fellowship of Catholic University Students.
