Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Wound Care Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our dedicated team focused on providing exceptional patient care and advancing the science of wound management. In this pivotal role, you will utilize your clinical expertise to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients with complex wound conditions while collaborating closely with interdisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients with wounds, developing individualized care plans based on clinical findings and evidence-based practices.
- Provide direct nursing care and advanced wound management interventions, including dressing changes, debridement, and patient education.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals to optimize patient outcomes and coordinate care across multiple settings.
- Educate staff and patients on wound care principles, including prevention strategies, treatment options, and the importance of adherence to care plans.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, utilizing data analytics to track patient outcomes and enhance wound care protocols.
- Mentor and support nursing staff and other healthcare providers in wound care best practices and advanced treatment modalities.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Master's degree in nursing or related field.
- Current RN license and certification as a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) in wound care.
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in wound care management.
- Strong knowledge of wound physiology, assessment, and treatment modalities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to patient-centered care.
Preferred:
- Certification from the Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nursing Certification Board (WOCNCB) or similar credentials.
- Experience with telehealth solutions for wound care management.
- Background in conducting clinical research or contributing to scholarly publications in the field of wound care.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems and telehealth platforms.
- Familiarity with advanced wound care technologies and products.
- Ability to analyze clinical data and implement evidence-based practices for wound management.
